New Home Inspections - More Info

New homes are not without their problems.  We have found heat systems incorrectly connected and set up, columns misplaced, joists cracked or with drill holes, poor grading, etc.  Most new homes are in good condition when sold, but some have items that need further attention.

The inspection is also an education for the buyer.  They learn how to operate systems, where main and emergency shut off's are, maintenance items and other pertinant information.

Previously Used Home Inspections - More Info

A complete top to bottom inspection is made of the major systems in the house.  The inspection includes the roof, exterior, water run off systems, structural systems, water penetration, heat and cooling systems, plumbing, electrical, interior, attic, insulation, kitchen and attached appliances.  Inspections are done in accordance with the American Society of Home Inspectors 'Standards Of Practice'.

Homes Under Construction

Houses that are in the process of being built should be inspected at certain intervals during the process to assure proper construction techniques and proper materials are being used. The minimum times are the pre drywall and end stages. The pre drywall inspection is done just before the insulation and drywall are installed. This is the time that structure, rough plumbing, rough electrical, rough heat/cooling and general construction quality can be checked. The end, or completion, inspection checks for proper operation of various systems, roofing, exterior and water control. Other stages can be inspected according to the owner’s desires.

Radon Testing - More Info

Radon is the second largest carcinogen, second only to smoking.  We test using the EPA approved E Perm Method.  This test will confirm the presence or absence of radon at levels above or below the EPA recommended action level.  Fifty to seventy five percent of our clients get their perspective homes tested for radon.  EPA recommends testing all houses.

Single Item Inspections - More Info

There are times when only one or two systems need to be checked.  Sometimes a system needs to be re-inspected after some repairs have been made.

Termite Testing - More Info

We can arrange for termite testing by a non affiliated contractor.  This is done as a service to our customers.

Miscellaneous Testing - More Info

We can perform a number of other inspections and tests.  These include Lead testing, Phase One Environmental Surveys and Commercial Building Inspections.
